Terms of service
Last updated 22 October 2026
These terms apply to your use of Fan Town (fan.town). Fan Town is run by Lupchoo Ltd, a company registered in New Zealand ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using Fan Town, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy.
Your account
- You must be at least 13. If you're under the age of consent where you live, you need a parent or guardian's permission.
- One person, one account. Don't impersonate anyone else, or create accounts to inflate ratings, votes or followers.
- Keep your Google account secure. You're responsible for what happens under your Fan Town account.
What you post
You own your reviews, ratings, logs and comments. By posting them, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, share and promote them, on Fan Town and in material about Fan Town such as review cards. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from copies that others have already shared, or that remain in backups for a short time.
Your reviews and ratings are public, and other people can vote on and reply to them.
Community rules
Fan Town works because ratings and reviews are honest. So:
- Review what you've actually watched. Don't post fake reviews, or reviews you've been paid for without saying so.
- Creators may not rate or review their own channels, or ask anyone to manipulate ratings for or against a channel.
- Criticise the work, not the person. No harassment, hate, threats or doxxing.
- No spam, malware, or illegal content.
- Don't scrape Fan Town in bulk, overload it, or try to get around its security.
We, and the moderators of each channel's community, can remove content that breaks these rules. We can suspend or close accounts that break them seriously or repeatedly.
Creators and claimed channels
Any public YouTube channel can have a page on Fan Town, whether or not its creator has joined. Claiming your channel lets you moderate its community, pin threads and see insights. It doesn't let you remove or change ratings and reviews you don't like, unless they break the community rules. Only claim channels you own or are authorised to manage.
YouTube
Fan Town uses YouTube API Services to show channel and video information. By using Fan Town you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Videos, thumbnails and channel details belong to their creators and to YouTube. Fan Town isn't affiliated with or endorsed by YouTube or Google.
Our content
The Fan Town name, logo, design and software belong to Lupchoo Ltd. You can share links and review cards freely, but you can't copy the site or use our brand in a way that suggests we endorse you.
The service
Fan Town is free. We're building it in the open and will keep changing it. We may add, change or remove features, and we try to give notice before removing anything significant. We aim to keep Fan Town running, but we can't promise it'll be available all the time or free of errors.
Our responsibility
Fan Town is provided "as is". Reviews and ratings are the opinions of members, not ours. As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for content posted by members or by YouTube. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to NZ$100.
If you use Fan Town for personal purposes in New Zealand, nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986. If you're a consumer elsewhere, you keep the protections your local law gives you.
Ending things
You can stop using Fan Town at any time, and delete your account yourself from Settings. We may close accounts that break these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive, such as ownership and limits on liability, still apply after an account closes.
Changes to these terms
We'll update the date above when these terms change, and tell you in advance if a change is significant. If you keep using Fan Town after a change, you accept the new terms.
Law
These terms are governed by New Zealand law, and New Zealand courts have jurisdiction. That doesn't affect any right you have, as a consumer, to bring a claim in your own country.
